You can’t build anything without solid foundations. Five years ago Melvyn took my son, Finn Ramus, out in his optimist for his first sail. He meticulously ensured every aspect of his technique was correct. Finn qualified to represent Great Britain in the optimist world championships in Spain. You can’t build anything without solid foundations.
MCS Bluetooth headsets
Coaching from a RIB presents a huge communication challenge between coach and sailor. Fast moving boats, wind noise and wobbly waves, not to mention distractions from other boats. Melvyn Cooper Sailing has introduced waterproof two-way wireless Bluetooth headsets to enable a higher level of interaction between coach and sailor. The headsets offer real time communication which allows the coach to instantly feedback to helm and crew and allows them to talk to the coach.
It’s proving a huge hit from beginners learning to sail through to coaching sailors competing in International championships. The benefits of this communication system are exceptional and the possibilities … well, endless.
